Dr. Griffith Sayles, O.D.

Growing up in a small Wisconsin town, Dr. Sayles studied at University of Wisconsin – Madison earning his Bachelor of Science Degree in 2009 and went on to complete his training at Western University in Southern California four years later to become a Doctor of Optometry.

His final year Optometry school included externships working with servicemen and women at Shepard Airforce Base in Texas, learning Pre/Post-op surgical care in Utah, caring for Veterans at a VA Clinic down in Florida and finally diagnosing, treating and teaching children at a Vision Therapy clinic up in Washington State. “While some of my classmates opted to stay put geographically, I wanted to take full advantage of the opportunities I had as a student to see a wide variety of Patient populations and working environments”.

Following the completion of his schooling, Dr. Sayles worked as an associate eye doctor for a Private Practice in Everett WA for 5 years prior to branching out in a move to Ukiah to open ‘Pacific Vision Optometry’ in June 2018. He is certified to provide full-scope optometric eye care, including the treatment of Ocular Disease. “I enjoy helping people see better and feel better. It’s a genuine blessing being able to make a positive impact in so many people’s lives”.

Outside of work, his interests include outdoor activities, hiking, kayaking and fishing. In addition to giving back locally, Dr. Sayles took part in a Lion’s Club mission trip in the Spring of 2018 to Chinandega, Nicaraguan (population 100,000) and as a group dispensed over 4,000 eyeglasses and 800 sunglasses.
